Psychotherapy

Psychotherapy

Our clinicians provide psychotherapy for adults, teens, and children, drawing from a range of therapeutic approaches to meet each client where they are. We blend insight-oriented work, attachment and relational perspectives, cognitive and behavioral strategies, acceptance and commitment therapy, and creative modalities like play and art therapy for younger clients.

We aim to create a warm, supportive, and collaborative space where clients can explore what they are feeling, understand patterns that no longer serve them, and move toward meaningful change.

For children, we incorporate developmentally appropriate techniques such as play, art, and sensory based activities to help them express themselves beyond words. We work closely with parents and caregivers to provide guidance, feedback, and a sense of shared teamwork.

Across the lifespan, our clinicians have experience supporting clients with anxiety, depression, identity exploration, relationship and family challenges, life transitions, acculturation and enculturation concerns, women’s issues, neurodivergence, behavioral and academic difficulties, giftedness, and the needs of highly sensitive persons.

We are committed to offering gender affirming, culturally responsive care to LGBTQIA clients and communities of color.

Assessment

Our clinicians provide comprehensive psychological assessments for children, teens, and adults. We approach evaluations as collaborative and therapeutic experiences, not just diagnostic procedures. Grounded in the principles of Therapeutic Assessment, we aim to help clients make sense of their questions, clarify what has felt confusing, and feel more understood by the people in their lives.

Assessments are personalized to each client’s developmental stage, cultural background, and lived experience. We strive to communicate findings in clear, accessible language, often using narrative based feedback tools such as letters, storybooks, or visual summaries to ensure that results feel meaningful and usable. Our goal is to offer practical insights, validation, and guidance that clients can carry forward long after the evaluation is complete.

As a team, we have extensive experience assessing neurodivergence, learning differences, social and emotional needs, and complex diagnostic questions across the lifespan. We integrate multiple sources of information, including interviews, standardized measures, observations, and collaboration with families, schools, and other providers when appropriate.

Common referral questions include, but are not limited to:
• ADHD and executive functioning concerns
• Autism evaluations
• Learning disabilities and academic challenges
• Adoption related questions
• Behavioral or emotional difficulties
• Anxiety, depression, and mood related concerns
• Trauma and PTSD
• Giftedness and high sensitivity
• Parenting questions
• Sensory processing differences
• Family or school based concerns
• Clarifying diagnoses when symptoms overlap or are unclear

Navigating Insurance Coverage

We understand that navigating insurance benefits can feel overwhelming, especially since every plan is different, and it’s not always clear how to make the most of your coverage. To help, we’ve outlined some guidelines that can make the process more straightforward.

Our Insurance Policy

We are considered an out-of-network provider with all insurance plans. This means:

  • You are responsible for paying the full session fee upfront.

  • Upon request, we can provide a detailed invoice (often called a superbill) at the end of each month.

  • You can submit this invoice to your insurance company for potential reimbursement.

Reimbursement depends on your plan, but many clients receive a percentage of the fee back, which helps reduce the out-of-pocket cost of therapy. Before submitting, we recommend contacting your insurance provider to confirm what information they may require for reimbursement. Once you’ve clarified this, let your provider know, and they’ll take care of the rest.

Questions to Ask Your Insurance Provider

When calling your insurance company (using the number on the back of your card), ask:

  1. What percentage is covered for services from out-of-network or non-participating providers?

  2. What is the maximum allowed amount per session? (This is sometimes called reasonable and customary fees.)

    • If needed, provide the CPT/procedure codes for therapy:

      • 90837: 60 minutes individual therapy

      • 90847: 50 minutes of family therapy with patient present

    • If needed, provide the CPT/procedure codes for assessment:

      • 96136: First hour of psychological test administration and scoring

      • 96137: Each additional hour of psychological test administration and scoring

      • 96130: First hour of test evaluation services

      • 96131: Each additional hour of test evaluation services

  3. Do I have an out-of-network deductible? If so, how much is it?
